Week 13 Recap — Deuteronomy 18–34..
In Week 13, we walked through the final chapters of the Book of Deuteronomy, where Moses delivers his last words to Israel before they enter the Promised Land. These chapters were filled with preparation, warning, blessing, and transition.
We saw Moses speak about future leadership, justice, obedience, and the consequences of turning away from God. The powerful blessings and warnings in Deuteronomy 28–30 reminded Israel that life with God brings blessing, while drifting away leads to brokenness — yet God always leaves room for restoration.
We also witnessed the emotional leadership transition from Moses to Joshua. Moses encourages Israel to be strong and courageous, knowing that God’s presence — not human leadership — is their true security.
Finally, Deuteronomy closes with Moses blessing the tribes, seeing the Promised Land from Mount Nebo, and being buried by God Himself — a powerful reminder that God’s work continues beyond any one leader. Joshua rises, filled with wisdom and the Spirit, ready to lead the people forward.
Week 13 ultimately reminded us that God keeps His promises, prepares new leaders, and faithfully leads His people into new seasons.
Week 14 Introduction — Entering the Promised Land (Book of Joshua)
As we move into Week 14, we step into the Book of Joshua — a natural and powerful continuation of Deuteronomy.
If Deuteronomy was about preparation, Joshua is about fulfillment.
The promises God made to Abraham, reaffirmed through Moses, now begin to unfold. Israel is no longer standing at the edge — they are about to step into the land God promised generations earlier.
In this book, we will see:
- God encouraging Joshua to lead with courage and faith
- The crossing of the Jordan River
- The fall of Jericho
- Battles, victories, and challenges
- The division of the Promised Land among the tribes
- God’s faithfulness in fulfilling His covenant promises
Joshua shows us that God not only makes promises — He fulfills them.
Week 14 invites us to watch how faith moves from preparation to action. The generation that grew up in the wilderness will now learn to trust God in new ways — not wandering, but walking into inheritance.
As we begin the Book of Joshua, we are reminded of a powerful truth:
The same God who prepared His people in Deuteronomy now leads them forward into promise, victory, and fulfillment.
