Week 6 Recap & Week 7 Preview: From Rescue to Relationship..
As we close Week 6, we pause and look back at what we’ve witnessed in Exodus 1–20.
We began with a people in bondage and a God who remembered His covenant (Exod. 2:24). We saw Him raise Moses, confront Pharaoh, part the sea, and provide in the wilderness. Again and again, even when Israel complained or doubted, God remained faithful.
By the time we reached Sinai, the story shifted from rescue to relationship.
The God who delivered them did not simply set them free—He invited them into covenant.
The Ten Commandments (Exod. 20) revealed His heart: a holy God forming a people who would live differently because they belonged to Him.
Week 6 reminded us:
- God hears the cries of His people.
- Deliverance often unfolds through process.
- Human weakness does not cancel God’s promise.
- Freedom is meant to lead us into deeper relationship with Him.
Israel has been brought out of Egypt.
Now they must learn how to live as God’s people in His presence.
What to Expect in Week 7
In Week 7, we move through Exodus 21–40, where the story deepens from covenant to dwelling.
Exodus 21–25 – Covenant Explained and Sealed
God shows how His people are to live with justice, mercy, and reverence.
The covenant is not only spoken—it is sealed, pointing forward to the greater covenant fulfilled in Christ.
Exodus 26–31 – God Dwells Among His People
We will see detailed instructions for the Tabernacle.
Every element points to a stunning truth: the holy God desires to live among His people. These chapters quietly point forward to Jesus, where God fully dwells with us.
Exodus 32–34 – Failure and Restoration
Even after encountering God, the people fall into idolatry.
Yet here we see one of the clearest revelations of God’s character—gracious, merciful, and abounding in steadfast love. Where sin rises, God’s mercy moves toward restoration.
Exodus 35–40 – Obedience and Glory
The journey ends with the Tabernacle completed and God’s glory filling it.
The God who rescued them now dwells among them. Rescue leads to presence.
As we step into Week 7, let’s read with expectation.
These chapters reveal the heart of a God who rescues, forms, forgives, and chooses to dwell with His people. And in every page, we continue to see the story moving toward Jesus.
Let’s continue the journey together.
