Week –1: Before the Journey Fully Began
Before this journey even had a rhythm, I wasn’t sure how I would record it.
I didn’t know what shape these reflections would take—how to hold together the reading, the questions, the wrestlings, the answers, and everything in between. I only knew I wanted to read Scripture as it unfolded in history, and to pay attention as honestly as I could.
And then I began reading.
Almost immediately, something unexpected happened. Verses I thought I knew began to breathe. Chapters I had read before started opening in new ways. What I assumed would be “one reading” turned into hours—moving slowly through passages, pausing, tracing cross-references, sitting with the text. Again and again, God met me there, revealing layers I had never noticed before.
This space—Between the Lines Faith Unboxed —is my attempt to capture that movement.
What you’ll find here is not everything I learned (that would be impossible), but a glimpse—a fragment of what stirred, challenged, and reshaped me as I read. These reflections are as much for future me as they are for you: a way to return, remember, and see how God was speaking in this season.
This is only the beginning.
Week 1 walks through Genesis 1–11, the foundation of the story—creation, calling, fracture, and promise. Weeks 2 will move into Job, pausing to wrestle with suffering, faith, and the mystery of God before the story continues forward. I’m praying for the grace, discipline, and endurance to keep showing up—week after week—as this journey unfolds through 2026.
