Week –2: Turning the Page to Job
In Week –2, our journey takes a turn—from Genesis into the world of Job.
This shift may feel unexpected if we’re used to reading the Bible in the order it appears on the page. But this journey isn’t about following the Bible as it is arranged—it’s about following the story as it unfolded in history.
Many biblical scholars place the events of Job roughly four hundred years after the flood, situating him in the early post-flood world. Humanity has multiplied and spread (Genesis 10–11). Communities and cultures are taking shape. Yet beneath this growth, the human heart remains the same—capable of deep obedience, and just as capable of pride.
In this setting, Job emerges as a post-flood witness to righteousness, echoing Noah before him. His life invites us into questions that feel timeless: What does faith look like when obedience is costly? How do we trust God when suffering has no clear explanation? What does it mean to remain faithful when the heavens feel silent?
Because of the depth and weight of these questions, Week 2 will be devoted to Job. Reflections from this study will be shared here soon.
